Internet-based Evidence for Christianity, Part 1 of a 2 Part Series

Can Christianity be proven? No. The Bible says that "...without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him." (Hebrews 11:6, NASB) But the preponderance of evidence has always built an overwhelmingly convincing case for historic orthodox Christian truth. Today that evidence is more readily available than ever before in history-thanks to the Internet. Any honest seeker has only to access a few of the ever-increasing number of excellent web pages that present and defend Christianity as uniquely true among the plethora of worldviews and thoughtforms in our world today. If you have yet to invest your faith in the Person and truth claims of Jesus Christ, let me encourage you to include a consideration of the following three web sites in your search, reviewing the information found there as objectively as possible. The Christian Answers Net entails a broad range of questions regarding many different aspects of life and truth, i.e. issues about who we are, how we got here, and how we should live. You can even submit your own questions on subjects like origins, worldviews, archeology and the Bible, and Christian theology-just to name a few. Following is a slightly edited example of an entry in the CAN Kid's Questions forum. Take a Look at an Amazing Book What makes the Bible so Amazing, Special and Important? Well, did you know...? There has never been a book written in the same way as the Bible! The Bible was written by over 40 authors... who wrote from 3 different continents... in many different places: wilderness, prison, islands. at different times; covering a span of 1,500 years... who did different kinds of jobs: fishermen, kings, shepherds, a herdsman, a politician, a doctor... They all wrote about the same thing, and without any contradictions! Address Information Christian Answers Network 1044 N. Gilbert Rd Gilbert, AZ 85234 USA www.ChristianAnswers.Net The Watchman Fellowship is without a doubt one of the most extensive and articulate cult-monitoring organizations in America today. Annually Watchman Fellowship publishes an index issue of their magazine, Watchman Expositor. The 1996 Watchman Expositor Index contains brief definitions, descriptions or cross references on over 1,100 religious organizations and beliefs. This year's index is expanded to include world religions (including Christianity) and related doctrines. Watchman Fellowship's complete 1996 Research Index of Cults, Occult Organizations, New Age Groups, New Religious Movements, and World Religions with Related Terms and Doctrines is also available as a download-able 266 KB file from the web site listed below. Following is one typical example of an Index listing: Astral Projection: New Age/Occult doctrine teaching methods whereby one's soul can depart the body, travel to various parts of the universe, then re-enter the body. Usually the soul and body are said to be connected at all times by a "cord." Also called "out of body experiences" (OBE). Address Information Watchman Fellowship, Inc. "Moral freedom requires that we can freely choose either good or evil; therefore, the possibility of choosing evil is a good thing, because moral freedom is a good thing. The fact that evil is possible is a good thing. Do you see that? Evil isn't good; but the fact that it's possible is a good thing because it means that you have genuine moral freedom."
